A film that celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of India's diverse culture, by depicting the underlying importance of a simple yet elegant piece of unstitched cloth.
I am a recently graduated BA Hons Animation student, with a First Class Honours from the University of Westminster in London. I am an international student from India and I love creating 2D digital animations. I usually get most of my inspirations from my hometown and three of my films, created at university are focused on this aspect. They are all documentaries, as I love exploring personal relationships with my family and friends, through a diversity of subject matter. My graduation film, 'Saree' is a combination of all of the above and I thoroughly enjoyed the process of making this film.
'Sojourn' (2018) directed by myself, is a narrative documentary about my mother who discusses the grieving process she endured after the loss of her beloved father. The film is animated in 2D and mainly employs the point of view shot to depict her story.
'Insight' (2017) also directed by myself, is a narrative documentary, which explores the connection between faith and intuition. I interviewed my father on this subject and hence, the film is based on his perception of the connection between his strong faiths in Lord Ganesha and how the process of praying leads to him having intuitions. This film, although unfinished is also animated in 2D and was one of my first attempts at digital and documentary animation.
