As the funicular railway car Sarjo is sitting in climbs upwards, he looks down at the small town below and up at the mountains above. He works up there in the labyrinthine corridors of a luxury hotel, folding and ironing laundry. In the midst of the constant noise and churning of the washing machines, he is fired. But before Sarjo finally leaves the premises, he takes on a new identity, out of revenge or just total despair, and gets access to the lavish corridors reserved for guests.
Born in Geneva, Louis Hans-Moëvi just finished his studies in screenwriting and directing in ECAL (école cantonale d’art de Lausanne). Drown by dramaturgy and acting direction, he began his studies as a comedian in the Conservatoire de Genève before deciding to become a director. In 2015, he enters in ECAL and made couples of short fictions and documentaries, like Au-delà des Cimes or Lirio-da-Paz (selected at the 30th edition of the Etats Généraux of Lussas). In 2018, he concludes his scholarship with Intercontinental, a short film selected in the 2019 international compétition of Clermont-Ferrand short film festival and inspired by an encounter with an asylum seeker in Switzerland.
