“Today You, Tomorrow Me” is a touching short about a man who was driving along a deserted highway when all of a sudden, one of his tires goes flat. He tries calling his wife, but his phone goes dead. He tries waving down passing cars but no one would stop to help him.
Finally, a truck pulls up behind him and the family inside comes out to see what they can do. There is a man, a woman, and a daughter who’s around 8 years old. Only the daughter speaks English, so the man communicates primarily through her. It turns out that the family is from Mexico, but they’ve entered the United States to work as fruit pickers.
